Member Paul Scregg is looking for part-time drivers to drive his 1965 Leyland Titan PD3 double-decker.

The bus is kept in Birkenhead and operates weekdays 16:00 - 18:00 hrs. and weekends 10:30 - 18:00 hrs.
This can be driven on an ordinary car driving licence issued prior to 1997, but drivers must be experienced as mentioned above.
Drivers would also be required to assist in supervising the children whilst at the party venue.
Ideally this job would suit a retired bus driver or other enthusiast!

One of our members has sent us a photograph of an 8.6 litre aircraft style Dural connecting rod which he says has been in storage for 35 years, awaiting a plausible explanation. The bearing surfaces show only slight wear and are of standard size to suit a standard 3 inch crank journal. The small end contains a bronze bush to carry a fully floating gudgeon pin.
Leyland identification Nos.: Part No. LM Ltd. 135272C N11 (stamped)
Serial No. 3228 (stamped)
"63" stamped in a circle at both big and small ends.
There is a photograph of the item here. ( 517 Kb)
Total weight of rod complete with cap bolts and nuts = 1.93Kg.

If anyone feels strongly enough to save this historic part of Leyland for museum or display purposes, Nigel Ainsworth would be happy to arrange dispatch.

Responses should be directed to David Bishop.
