to all owners of preserved vehicles who are currently insured with Chaucer Insurance.
You will no longer be able to renew your insurance through your current broker, and may gain the impression that the Chaucer Insurance product is no longer available.
In fact it will continue to be available and the rating structure will remain unaltered as it has for the past 11 years.
All previous cover will continue to be available, for example, attending rallies, giving free rides, for wedding use, private hire, use on stage services and training.
If you wish to continue using Chaucer Insurance, or use them for the first time, you should contact Rigton Insurance Services,
who are now exclusively the only broker able to transact new and renewal Preserved Bus and Classic Bygone Bus cover with them.
Rigton are themselves enthusiasts who regularly attend bus rallies and enjoy meeting their clients there. Their clients are located throughout the UK.
You can contact them by Telephone 01943 879539, Fax 01943 875529, email enquiries@rigtoninsurance.co.uk
or their website www.rigtoninsurance.co.uk
I thank you for your understanding and look forward to hearing from yourself and Leyland Society members.
Regards and best wishes.

As can be seen from the picture, this vehicle is in good condition,
and requires only a small amount of work on the body and the engine.
Gerald Walker, who used to drive it, can supply a full history up to November 2004,
and is hoping to find a buyer on behalf of the owner.
Gerald can be contacted on 01697 342744 or email :

Recently a number of vehicles and components were auctioned in a sale in
Cheshire.
Whilst a lot went for scrap, I have been advised that there are
still some chassis and engines to be collected, these include the chassis of
a Leyland FEC ex London Transport bus FJJ764 with the horizontal 8.6 litre
engine still in the frame with a second similar engine close by and three or
four pre or early post-war Leyland truck chassis, including the remains of a
forward control Comet.
Most if not all of the chassis still have all the
running gear including brake components.
There is only a technical delay in
collection, so if you are interested, contact my colleague Cliff Marsh on
0161 483 7052 without delay.
If there is any interest out there it may just
be possible to pursuade the scrap metal dealer to delay cutting and crushing
these scarce remains.
