- What Leyland's Doing. - Leyland Trucks- Innovation for the future. Steve Whelan. In conjunction with a key customer, Ryder, the Company has developed
a new lightweight variant of the current in-house body constructed from honeycombed composite panels. Following on from this the Company has developed a lightweight
aluminium body sub frame option. Also, the Company's 1000th factory bodied vehicle to Ryder PLC.
- The Leyland Torque Converter. - Neil Steele. Neil was fortunate enough to own a 1930's single decker "Gearless Bus", as the
lettering on the radiator told us. First of all a description of the cab and what it was like to drive the bus, followed by an in depth look at the Torque Converter
itself and some problems experienced by operators. All very readable.
